South Pacific Apartments Manly, NSW

Project Overview

Standing proud against the Pacific Ocean, the South Pacific Apartments in Manly represents Anchor Safe Rope Access’ largest project of 2025. Years of harsh salt-air exposure and marine conditions had taken a heavy toll on the building’s exterior, resulting in severe concrete spalling, water ingress, and general structural deterioration. Anchor Safe Rope Access was engaged to deliver a complete, premium restoration designed to withstand the toughest Australian coastal conditions. Our team executed a top-down transformation that reinstated structural integrity, ensured full compliance and completely modernised the building’s aesthetic.

The exceptional quality and technical execution of the project were recognised at the Master Painters Awards NSW/ACT 2025.

Facade Restorations
Anchor Safe Rope Access was engaged to undertake the facade restoration works. Priority was placed on addressing safety-critical items and secure all compromised elements.

Key restorations included:

  • Structural Concrete Repair
Executed 13,000+ Litres of specialised concrete spalling repairs to balcony slabs and affected areas to reinstate long-term structural integrity
  • Balustrade Upgrades
Installed custom, face-mounted glass balustrades to ensure strict safety compliance while preserving the building’s premium coastal views.
  • Sill and Brickwork Rectification
Tiled windowsills were rectified with a more robust fixing solution, and loose or damaged brickwork was repaired or replaced.
  • Weatherproofing and Sealants
Reinstated deteriorated sealant joints to prevent water ingress, bridging corroded components and exposed services back to a safe, compliant and watertight condition.

Repainting & Finishes
To shield the building from future marine degradation and deliver a premium, contemporary finish, the team applied high-performance protective coatings across the entire façade.

  • Rendering & Texture Coating
Full rendering and specialised texture coating were applied to modernise the building’s aesthetic
  • Advanced Membrane Application
Coated the façade in high-performance elastomeric protective membranes creating a durable shield against harsh salt-air, UV exposure and water ingress

The Result
The South Pacific Apartments project stands as a testament to the local talent, engineering, and grid required to protect Australia’s iconic coastal properties. Through highly coordinated execution, Anchor Safe Rope Access successfully transformed a severely deteriorated strata building into a fully restored, compliant, and modern complex.

The building now watertight, visually modernised, and structurally sound façade ensuring long-term protection against harsh coastal conditions.
